CNC Laser Setup Operator
We are seeking a skilled CNC Laser Setup Operator to program, set up, and operate laser cutting machinery for precision metal fabrication. The ideal candidate will ensure efficient machine performance, high-quality parts, and adherence to production schedules within a fast-paced manufacturing environment.
Key Responsibilities:
- Read and interpret engineering drawings, blueprints, and cutting plans.
- Set up CNC laser cutting machines (CO₂ or fiber) by loading tools, materials, and offsets.
- Program and adjust cutting parameters (speed, power, gas pressure) manually or via CAM software.
- Perform first-piece inspections and make toolpath or parameter corrections as needed.
- Monitor production runs for accuracy, quality, and throughput; troubleshoot machine errors.
- Change tooling (nozzles, lenses) and maintain proper machine alignment and cleanliness.
- Conduct routine preventive maintenance checks and escalate repairs when required.
- Log production data, scrap, and machine performance in the ERP/MES system.
- Adhere strictly to all safety protocols and housekeeping standards.
Requirements:
- 10+ years of hands-on experience setting up and running CNC laser cutting equipment.
- Proficient with CAM programming software (e.g., LANTEK, SigmaNEST, BySoft).
- Strong ability to interpret CAD drawings and apply GD&T principles.
- Mechanical aptitude and understanding of metal fabrication processes.
- Attention to detail with a commitment to producing burr-free, accurate parts.
- Good problem-solving skills and ability to work under production pressures.
- Basic computer literacy (Excel, ERP/MES systems).
